- שִׁיכְמִי, שִׁכְ׳m. (denom. of. שְׁכֶם) shikhmi, by-name of a certain class of Pharisees. Y.Ber.IX, 14b bot. פרוש ש׳, expl. טעין מצוותאוכ׳ who carries religious exercises on his shoulder; Y.Sot.V, 20c bot.; Bab. ib. 22b, expl. זה העושה מעשה שכם he who acts like Shechem (who underwent circumcision from an unholy motive).
